FUT Hair Transplant

FUT (Follicular unit transplantation) is one of the two primary methods of hair restoration. It is a technique where a patient’s hair is transplanted in naturally occurring groups of 1 to 4 hairs, called follicular units. Follicular units contain sebaceous (oil) glands, nerves, a small muscle, and occasional fine vellus hairs.

The small units allow the surgeon to safely transplant thousands of grafts in a single session, which maximizes the cosmetic impact of the procedure. FUT is considered as an advanced technique of hair transplantation over the other older methods of hair transplantation which used larger grafts and often produced an unnatural look. If a follicular unit transplantation is performed properly it may look as if the hair growth is natural and the hair transplant will be undetectable. Maximizing hair transplant growth and ensuring the naturalness of hair transplant are the main objectives of FUT hair transplant.

Minimizing trauma to the scalp is an important aspect of Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT).
